Things often change in business, and sometimes a company has new leadership to assume admin responsibilities. Here are some things to keep in mind as your company shifts to new operate under new management.
When a Sling account is created, the creator is automatically designated as an admin for the account, and simultaneously becomes the owner of the account as well. This is only significant since account ownership does indicate which admin on the account has the power to delete the company's Sling account. Only the owner of a Sling account has the authority to delete the account entirely. Otherwise, there is no significant difference between the admins assigned to an account.
In order to transfer account ownership to a different individual, the person must be listed as an active admin. But we understand sometimes you may not have time to update these details.
Customers can contact Sling Support for assistance with transferring account ownership to a new individual. If the individual who needs to be listed as the owner is not already an admin on the account, then we will require some proof of the person's role within your company. Acceptable forms of proof include:
a link to your company's webpage, specifically to a page that shows different people's roles within your company
a document such as a tax document that lists the name of the business along with the new account owner's name
an email directly from the former account owner that verifies the new account owner's status
an email from all active users who are assigned the system role of Manager, stating the new account owner's name and role with the company
Once our Support team representative is able to verify a person's role with your company, we can assist with adjusting the person's system role, and change their status to reflect their ownership of the Sling account on the back-end. This way, we can protect the integrity of your account, and ensure that the right person has the level of access they need.
If you aren't sure how to make account ownership visible on your end, you might consider creating a Position "Account owner" that you then assign to the person who has this role. That way you'll be able to keep track. Of course, we're happy to assist if you ever have any questions as well!
