Business account admins and managers can mark a shift as no-show or sick call-out to monitor employee attendance. This feature is not available for Premium or Free subscriptions.

NO-SHOW

From the web

Go to the Schedule page and click on the shift you need to update.

Click on the options button (3 dots) and then click Mark as no show.

Next, you can add a comment (such as the reason) and decide whether to leave it uncovered, assign it to someone else, unassign it, make it available, or offer it.

Click Save, and a no show event will be displayed for that employee. It  will be visible to you, the other managers and the concerned employee. Other employees will not see this.

Please note that if you have not assigned a wage to the employee, then marking a shift as a sick call-out will not generate any labor cost data. The cost associated with a shift marked as a sick call-out, or for any time off with a PTO category depends on the wage details saved to the employee's profile.

From the mobile app

Go to the Shifts tab under the Full schedule and tap on the shift you need to update.

Tap on the options button (3 dots) and then tap on Mark as no show.

Next, you can add a comment (such as the reason) and decide whether to leave it uncovered, assign it to someone else, unassign it, make it available, or offer it.

Tap Save and a no show event will be added. It will be visible to you, the other managers and the concerned employee. Other employees won't be able to see it.

SICK CALL-OUTS

From the web

From the Schedule page, click the shift you want to mark, then click the options button (3 dots).

The next window will allow you to add a comment and choose what additional action to take with the shift. For example, if the shift is in the future, you can make it available so someone else can pick it up. You'll also see how many sick call-outs the employee has used since the start of the calendar year.

If you have enabled PTO tracking and the Sick category, the call-out will also be counted as paid, but you can choose to mark it as unpaid.

Once you have all your details entered, click Save.

The shift's appearance will change to reflect the call-out.

The info will also be added to your Attendance report.

And will also show in the Time Off report.

Please refer to the mobile instructions earlier in this article for how to mark a shift as a no-show as they include the option for marking the shift as a sick call-out as well.
