Since you can’t manage what you don’t measure, Sling's Premium and Business subscriptions include weekly and daily overtime calculators and overtime alerts, so you can spot and avoid potential overtime before it becomes a problem.

To start measuring overtime and activate overtime alerts you need to enable the function in your Labor Cost settings (Dashboard > Settings > Labor cost).

Here, you will choose the options you prefer, specify when overtime should kick in, and set the multiplier rate (e.g. time and a half).

Note that daily and weekly overtime are NOT compounded. If a shift exceeds the daily overtime threshold, those overtime hours will not contribute to weekly overtime, as well.

For example, if an employee is scheduled for 4, 10-hour shifts in the same week, then picks up an extra 6-hour shift, they would still only have 8 hours of total overtime, even though their total hours for the week exceed the weekly limit. The 8 hours already accounted for with daily overtime are technically not included in the weekly threshold total in this case.

If they were to pick up another 6-hour shift, then weekly overtime would kick in, and they would add another 4 hours of overtime to their schedule.

This will all be grouped together under the same overtime category in your reports, but any difference in the rates for weekly vs. daily OT hours will be calculated accordingly.
