Enable the world clock to see shifts based on user time zones

If your organization has employees across different time zones, it's easy to manage their schedules using our World Clock. The setting allows you to choose whether to view and schedule shifts according to their local time or your own time, so you can be sure you have coverage where and when it's needed.

The setting can be accessed right from the schedule page so you can easily switch views any time. Using the option dots below your name in the right corner of the page, you can find the world clock toggle:

When the setting is turned off (toggle switch says No), you will see times according to the location assigned to the shift. For example, the shift for the California location shown below is displayed according to Pacific time, while the Paris shifts are shown according to the GMT +1 time zone. 

When you click on the shift itself, the location will indicate the time zone it is assigned to. This depends on the time zone that has been saved to a Location's settings.

In the Day view exemplified below, the two shifts look like they are occurring in the same time zone in the schedule because the world clock is off, and the times each reflect 9AM for their locales.

Scheduling shifts with the world clock off means you should add times according to the location of the shift. So if I want to schedule a shift in Paris to start at 3 PM, I will enter 3 PM.

When the setting is turned on (toggle switch says Yes), you will see times relative to your own time zone (as defined in your profile). So if I am scheduling shifts for Paris, and I am located in California, then I will be able to see what time a shift is relative to my own time zone (Pacific time).

Notice the shift for the Paris location has shifted on the grid. This user's view is showing them the Paris shifts relative to the user's time zone (Pacific time).

When the world clock is turned on, you will see and schedule shifts according to your own time zone, so a shift that should start at 3 PM Paris time would have to be entered to start at 6 AM to show up with the correct start time for users in Paris.

For managers, this means it's easy to plan schedules and see that there are no gaps since they can choose to view shifts according to one time zone.

For employees, it means that even if a manager is located in a different time zone, they don't have to worry about calculating the difference or missing a shift.
